My pretty twins turned 11 this past week and look at how cute they are! I can't believe how fast they are growing up. I know it is cliche to say things like that, but really, when did this happen? I've been here every step of the way and still they grow up right under our noses. I remember so well their birth, Jess at 6 lbs 14 oz and Grace at just 5lb 5 oz....just a little peanut really.
They wanted some pampering for their birthday this year so part of their birthday gift was a trip to my salon (where they usually don't go since it's a little bit pricey for a children's cut). When their hair cuts and styling was over, we headed up to Claires for their next birthday gift. Ear piercing! As exciting as that sounds to a young lady, this was their second time to do this. Two years ago we tried to get their ears pierced, but it just didn't take and both of their ears became infected badly to the point we just had to let them close up. We're trying a little different approach this time and used stainless steel earrings in hopes that it takes this time and heals easily so they can have pierced ears.
Look at how worried they both look! You'd think they had never done this before. Rest assured, they both had smiles on their faces once it was over. Jessica looked giddy afterwards, while Grace looked a little pale but happy.
I couldn't post without a picture of Brett. He's also making his Mama wonder why children must grow up so quickly. Look at him drool over the girls birthday cake (which happened to be a marble cake with chocolate cream cheese icing - soooo good!). Four months old and already eyeing our food and sitting up. He didn't get a bite of the cake this time (just in case you were wondering) - we'll save that first bite for his first birthday.
